Initial Explanations

I've always sort of thought about having a blog, but I haven't ever done it. When I was in Jim Schaap's writing class last fall, he suggested having a blog because it helps writing skills and such - factor one. Blogging has always seemed kind of interesting - factor two. Factor three: I'm going to Nicaragua in the fall. An off-campus program would demand a blog, no? I should know how to work the thing before I get in a sketchy internet cafe, especially considering my lazy techie skills, so I'm starting it early.

The name? Well, Adrianna's Adventures seemed a little too cliche, but it conveys my life well, I think. I'm excited about life, about everything that is coming. I'm living with my Grandma in Ohio this summer. At the end of July my family and I are road-tripping to Alberta for a party with my dad's family. Then, the wedding weekends begin. Iowa, Wisconsin, andMissouri. The last one I get to be a bridesmaid - for my two good friends Joseph and Rachel! I've known them well since freshman year at Dordt (always lived with Rachel and been friends with Joseph), and I am so excited for them!!!

Oh yeah, adventures are ahead.

Nicaragua, my last year of college, and then... whatever God says. On good days, I see life as an adventure, full of possibilities. Each new thing to learn - in classes, in conversations, in relationships, in experiences - is an adventure. So, this blog will let you share some of my adventures. Back in high school in DeMotte, we had our own little lingo. For a while, we added "age" to a lot of our words. It just seemed to fit. Thus and therefore, welcome to Adrianna's adventurage.
